Our family had a wonderful Christmas. I haven't had time to update the blog with pictures yet because we've had some sickness in our home.
On Christmas Eve, I had to take Maya to a clinic because she was running a fever, lethargic, not eating, and just plain sick. She had a double ear infection and got started on some antibiotics. This is actually one of the first times she has been sick--and her first ear infection. Remember our Santa picture? That's exactly how Maya reacted when the nurse practitioner walked in. I'm sure we made her Christmas Eve wonderful. :)
I worked a 12 hour shift on Christmas Day (one of the many joys of being a nurse) and Brooks spent the day with his girls.
After their bath on Christmas Day
Then we headed up to NW Indiana to see family for Christmas. We had a great time hanging out, exchanging gifts, and eating WAY too much (maybe that was just me?). While we were up there, Gianna started acting fussy and like she wasn't feeling well. We headed home and the next day she had a fever of 104.1. Yikes.
We took her to the pediatrician's office and found out she probably has a virus. She had pus in her throat (ew) but tested negative for strep. The good news was that her ears were fine! I was so glad because she has had multiple ear infections and we had to take her to an ENT.
By the way, viruses SUCK. You can't give them medicine to take it away and you have no clue how long it will last! Basically, we've just been treating her symptoms with Tylenol and Ibuprofen and snuggling. Sleep has been rough!
So that has been our Christmas so far....we have majorly awesome plans for tonight which include cleaning the house, eating chili, and going to bed at 8:30.
