Little Vacation

Two weeks ago, an awesome family in our church told us they were renting a condo/hotel for a week....but they were only going to be there for 3 days.  So they asked us if we would want to use it for the rest of the week.

After getting over the initial shock, we quickly said, "YES, please!".

So that Sunday, after church, we packed up and tossed the girls in the van.  It was a few hours north of us.  We weren't sure what to expect, so we kept telling the girls we would be staying in a hotel.  We drove up to a beautiful resort-like area, with big ski hills all around and a big golf course.  I felt like we were in the mountains.  As we entered the 'hotel',  I quickly realized it wasn't like any 'hotel' we had ever stayed at!

Basically, it was a little apartment.  Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, living room, dining room, and deck.  There was a washer and dryer to use and and HUGE whirlpool bathtub in the master bathroom.  WOW.

We were able to stay for three lovely, relaxing nights.  We played, went swimming, went out to dinner, and got to visit with some family members who live near where we stayed.

Here are a few pictures (I didn't take many...we were too busy relaxing).

On the way up...we stopped for dinner at Big Boy.  Big Boy is the girls' favorite restaurant...I think that makes them official Michigan girls.

Playing in the whirlpool tub...the girls thought it was a swimming pool.

The beautiful sunset the first night

Visiting an orchard/restaurant to see Aunt Mikkie

Maya and Aunt Mikkie....Gianna was being silly and wouldn't take a picture.

We also visited with family in Traverse City.  We got to see some of our favorite cousins and go to the mall in Traverse City...they had a carousel in the mall!  We woke up early on Wednesday morning to drive home and were shocked by a few inches of wet snow on the road.  We had no clue it was going to snow and it made the drive home a little scary, but we made it.

We feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to take a little family vacation...it was great!
